We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Associate to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice. As a Front Desk Associate, you will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks including assisting patients during the check in process, payment collection, data collection, check out process, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office.
Education and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ minimum experience in customer service.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Strong reliability and a track record of punctuality.
- Proficiency with typing, Microsoft Office, and general computer skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience as a receptionist in an optometry office is a plus but not required.
- Greet patients and visitors professionally, ensuring a positive first impression of the practice.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, managing the calendar effectively to optimize patient flow.
- Perform clerical duties such as scanning, data entry, etc.
- Collect accurate demographics and insurance eligibility information.
- Register new and established patients according to expected workflows.
- Capture and update insurance information in the patient’s record.
- Complete enrollment and necessary forms for financial programs.
- Complete necessary clinical forms required for patient visit.
- Ensure forms and insurance cards/eligibility are scanned and indexed appropriately and timely.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies regarding sensitive information.
- Extensive use of computers.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly.
- Freedom to move about offices, practice locations.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
