Admissions Assistant

The Admissions Assistant coordinates the intake, referral, and admission process for clients entering social service programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for new residents/clients, ensuring a smooth transition by handling paperwork, verifying eligibility, and supporting the interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Intake & Onboarding: Greet new clients and families, conduct initial intake orientations, and assist with completing admission packets.

• Documentation & Data Entry: Maintain accurate client demographic, financial, and medical records in accordance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

• Eligibility & Verification: Assist in verifying insurance coverage, state benefits, and background requirements prior to admission.

• Coordination: Liaise with hospital discharge planners, community agencies, and internal case management staff to schedule incoming admissions.

• Client Support: Answer inquiries regarding facility programs, guidelines, and available social support resources.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma required;
  Associate or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred.

• Experience: 1+ years in social services, healthcare, or administrative intake roles.

• Skills: Strong communication, empathy, detail orientation, and proficiency with database entry/EHR systems.
