Hourly Rate:$18.42 per hour; non-exempt classification
Duration:
Academic Year (Fall/Spring) with the possibility of extension
Work Schedule:
Up to 20 hours/week (no more than 999 hours per calendar year.) Schedule developed with the Graphics Coordinator
Training Period:
Two months with the possibility of extension
General Statement:
Under the direct supervision of the Graphics Coordinator, the Production Aide provides production support to the University-Student Union (U-SU). The production Aide is responsible for performing simple routine production tasks and projects to effectively operate the U-SU Graphics department.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides quality customer service to the University community;
- Distributes U-SU promotional materials in the U-SU and on campus;
- Organizes, stores, and tracks production supplies;
- Maintains, organizes, and monitors promotional materials;
- Archives and tracks digital and print artwork;
- Updates and maintains Graphics library, nametag, and label system;
- Assists in print production, mounting, and installing signage as needed;
- Assists with projects and events as needed;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled Cal State LA student with a minimum of 6 undergraduate units and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0, or graduate student with at least 4 graduate units and a minimum Cal State LA cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0;
- Willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic student body and staff;
- Ability to interact positively and build effective working relationships;
- Willingness to provide effective customer service promptly and courteously;
- Proficient oral, written, and listening skills;
- Strong organizational skills: the ability to prioritize and complete assigned duties and routine tasks;
- Ability to learn and utilize desktop and web-based applications and office equipment as needed;
- Ability to utilize distribution cart and post advertisements across campus;
- Willingness to learn hands-on production techniques;
- Knowledgeable of campus surroundings is preferred;
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and basic printing preferred;
- Customer service experience preferred.
