the responsibilities of this position include performing routine to moderately difficult legal clerical work; type various documents from plain or corrected copy, rough draft or dictating equipment. Compose and type correspondence of a routine nature by following general instructions as to content or by referring to records of previous correspondence. Sorts, classifies, indexes, cross-references, photocopies and files legal correspondence, memoranda, reports, contracts, complaints, citations, accident reports, claims, statistical and financial tabulations, court calendars, legal opinions and other documents.
May act as a receptionist, assisting callers in person or on the telephone by answering questions, receiving and recording requests and complaints, and referring callers to proper sources. Ordering and organizing supplies; and other duties as assigned.
- applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for the legal clerk ii position, which includes passing a typing test of 45 wpm and no more than five errors, as well as a spelling test with five errors maximum.
- this position requires the ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision. Applicants must have the ability to work under pressure, pay close attention to detail and communicate effectively.
- this position requires a person to lift boxes (up to 25 lbs.). The hours for this position are generally 8:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m., monday through friday, subject to operational needs. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

- knowledge of legal procedures and terminology is desirable. Thorough familiarity with microsoft word is strongly preferred.

this position requires regular onsite work. Employer-provided parking is limited and may not be available for this classification.
