Overview
A California-based established law firm is seeking a Business Development & Marketing Coordinator who will play a key role in supporting firmwide growth initiatives. Working closely with marketing professionals, attorneys, and administrative staff, this position helps execute business development and marketing projects that strengthen client relationships and support new business opportunities.
The Coordinator develops a strong understanding of the firm’s services, attorneys, and clients, and produces high-quality, on-brand materials, research, and reporting to support marketing and client development efforts.
Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation, submission, and tracking of pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and related reports
- Maintain business development infrastructure, including marketing collateral, experience databases, contact lists, and opportunity tracking systems
- Support the preparation and submission of rankings, awards, surveys, league tables, and other recognitions for assigned practice or industry groups
- Update practice and industry content on the firm’s website and intranet
- Write and edit practice descriptions, attorney biographies, client presentations, and other business development materials
- Conduct research on clients and prospective clients, including market and competitive intelligence
- Support firm visibility initiatives, including branded collateral, social media efforts, sponsor ships, and client events
- Provide administrative support for meetings, travel, and general department operations
- Collaborate across offices and teams to ensure consistency, information sharing, and adherence to firmwide standards
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks, including processing marketing-related expenses and invoices
- Travel to firm offices and work extended hours during peak proposal or event periods, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Minimum of two years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word (including styles), PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with Word Press and Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred
- Comfortable learning and using web-based and AI tools such as JD Supra, Westlaw, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Canva, and similar platforms
- Familiarity with CRM and ERM systems such as Hub Spot, Inter Action, Salesforce, or Foundation preferred
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Team-oriented, accountable, and professional, with a collaborative and positive approach to work
- Hybrid role with an in-office requirement of three days per week
- Occasional extended hours may be required
- Occasional travel to other firm offices may be necessary
