Fashion Pass is seeking a highly analytical, strategically minded Senior Merchandise Planner to join our growing team. In this role, you will drive data‑informed inventory and assortment strategy, optimize financial performance, and elevate how we forecast, plan, and react to product performance. You’ll partner closely with Buying, Finance, Marketing, Product, and Data teams to translate business questions into actionable insights and impactful planning solutions.
This position will report to our Director of Strategy.
- Lead development of comprehensive merchandise financial plans, including sales, inventory, and receipts aligned to business goals each season.
- Analyze historical performance, trend signals, product life cycles, and forward‑looking indicators to inform demand forecasts and inventory strategies.
- Build, validate, and refine SKU‑level forecasts leveraging advanced analytical frameworks and cross‑functional inputs.
- Partner with Buying, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure alignment on promotional plans, product launches, assortment decisions, and inventory flow.
- Collaborate with the Data team to refine forecasting methodologies, and co‑develop analytical tools and dashboards that enhance visibility into product performance.
- Act as a key communicator of merchandise performance, risks, and opportunities, synthesizing insights for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Monitor in‑season performance and dynamically adjust plans to maximize sell‑through and minimize excess inventory while protecting margin goals.
- Lead weekly/monthly reviews of performance metrics, including popularity, turns, and open‑to‑buy.
- Improve and scale planning tools, dashboards, models, and processes — with a focus on automation, data quality, and scalability.
- Bring intellectual curiosity and initiative to challenge assumptions and explore new analytical approaches.
- Proactively identify opportunities to modernize planning processes, increase cross‑team transparency, and unlock business value.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, specifically in merchandising, analytics, data or a related field
- 5+ years of merchandise planning, retail analytics, inventory planning, or related experience in a fast‑paced retail or DTC environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with proficiency in Excel and analytical tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize across competing outcomes, and deliver thoughtful recommendations with flexibility and rigor.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills — comfortable partnering with product, data, finance, and buying teams.
- Ability to explain analytical insights clearly to both technical and business audiences.
