Position Overview

We are partnering with a publicly traded organization seeking a Revenue Accounting Consultant to join their global finance department. You'll be responsible for supporting the administration and management of sales commission programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly and quarterly commission calculations and payment processes for a global sales organization using an incentive compensation management (ICM) system
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on commission processes, compensation plan structures, and related accounting considerations
  • Analyze and reconcile large datasets, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accuracy while meeting payroll and closing deadlines
  • Evaluate business processes, systems, and data workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency and scalability
  • Develop and maintain documentation for commission processes, systems, and operational procedures
  • Participate in testing and validation of compensation system updates and enhancements, including user acceptance testing and system rollouts
  • Support ongoing department operations including close processes, reporting, ad hoc analysis, and cross-team initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in commissions administration, accounting, revenue recognition, or quote-to-cash processes, ideally within a technology or high-growth environment
  • Experience working with incentive compensation management systems (e.g., SAP Sales Cloud, Varicent, Xactly) and CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end commission lifecycle and the underlying compensation plan mechanics and accounting treatment
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with reporting and data tools such as Tableau, Crystal Reports, or SQL is preferred
  • Ability to adapt and operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
