Founded in 2009, Far West Contractors Corp(FWCC) is a licensed general contractor serving the greater Los Angeles Orange County area. Our customers trust us to provide a wide range of high-quality construction services as well as cost-effective facility maintenance for convenience of industrial and commercial buildings.

Our team has extensive experience in successfully managing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, roofing, and ADA compliance. We help small retailers to large corporations complete or begin the construction process.

Job Overview:

The Construction Business Development candidate will be instrumental in propelling our business forward by uncovering new opportunities, cultivating and sustaining robust relationships with key stakeholders, and providing precise project cost estimates. The ideal candidate will possess a strong network within the industrial, commercial, aerospace, hospitality and medical industries, and will bring a client pipeline capable of generating $5 million in sales within their first year of employment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, industry influencers, and potential clients.
  • Generate a pipeline of clients with a goal of achieving $5 million in sales within the first year.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and potential opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective business development strategies.
  • Meet monthly with upper management and present projects captured and potential opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate project costing.
  • Analyze historical data and market trends to refine estimating processes.
  • Present estimates to clients and negotiate terms to secure contracts.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and address client inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their needs and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in business development within the industries.
  • Established network and connections in the relevant sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate a pipeline of clients with significant sales potential.
  • Strong estimating skills with experience in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on construction sites, including standing, walking, and climbing as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required.
