Seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to oversee the estimating process and prepare detailed project cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects. This full‑time position requires a strong background in construction estimating, leadership, and cost analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Engineering or Construction Management and have at least 10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.

Compensation

$200,000–$270,000 annually, plus a competitive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
  • Strong construction experience and/or engineering background.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods and means.
  • Local industry knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the estimating process.
  • Review and analyse project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed project cost estimates using estimating software.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and bids.
  • Develop and present value engineering options and cost‑saving recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support successful bid submissions.
Skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software.
  • Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
