Role Description
The Residential Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This position oversees residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion, including custom builds and remodels. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating schedules, subcontractors, and inspections; managing project timelines, budgets, and change orders; and ensuring work quality, safety, and code compliance on site. The Project Manager will collaborate with clients, architects, designers, and internal teams to clarify project requirements, resolve issues, and maintain clear communication.
This role also involves reviewing plans and specifications, tracking progress, preparing status reports, and proactively identifying risks or delays to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of full-time experience in Construction/Project Management with increasing management and supervisory responsibility and experience.
- Demonstrated ability in Project Management and Project Coordination to oversee multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial tracking for construction projects.
- Knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and residential construction methods.
- Experience supervising subcontractors and managing on-site safety and quality standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, design professionals, and field teams.
- Ability to read and generate takeoffs based on architectural plans and technical documents.
- Ability to produce presentation-quality professional estimates for clients.
- Proven track record managing residential projects in Los Angeles or similar markets; local experience is preferred.
- Relevant education or training in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferable but not required.
- Competence with project management software and basic office tools (e.g., Excel, Online Construction Management Software, Bluebeam/PDF editing, scheduling software).
- Ability to illustrate construction details for workers in the field.
Salary Range
The base salary for this role begins at $140,000 annually with total compensation depending on experience, project scope and the ability to manage more than one project.
