We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who enjoys technical problem solving, understands construction documents, and can confidently lead multiple complex projects from investigation through certification.
Position SummaryThe Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple DSA certification and project recovery assignments simultaneously. This role requires someone who understands construction documents, building systems, DSA processes, change management, and consultant coordination while providing exceptional client service.
This is
not
a production architecture role. You will not spend your day designing buildings in Revit. Instead, you will use your technical expertise to solve construction and regulatory challenges, recover documentation, coordinate consultants, and successfully guide projects to DSA certification.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in architecture, construction management, owner's representation, or DSA consulting who enjoys solving complex problems.
Primary Responsibilities Project Management- Manage 20–40 active projects simultaneously through various stages of DSA certification.
- Develop project schedules and manage milestones.
- Lead internal and external project meetings.
- Communicate regularly with school districts, architects, inspectors, engineers, contractors, and DSA.
- Track deliverables, deadlines, action items, and project risks.
- Keep clients informed with accurate project updates.
Must be able to independently review and analyze:
- Architectural plans
- Structural drawings
- Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing drawings
- Civil drawings
- Specifications
- Construction documents
- As-built drawings
- DSA approved sets
- Field reports
- Inspector reports
- Deferred approvals
Must understand how all disciplines work together and identify missing information that impacts project certification.
DSA ComplianceWorking knowledge of:

Experience attending and leading meetings with DSA staff is highly preferred.

- Read construction documents to identify discrepancies.

- 5+ years of experience in Architecture, Construction Management, Owner's Representation, DSA Consulting, or related field.
- Experience with California K-12 or Community College construction projects.
- Strong understanding of DSA processes.
- Experience reviewing construction documents.
- Experience coordinating consultants.
- Experience reviewing CCDs and Change Orders.
- Ability to interpret building codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
