Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Project Manager to oversee custom home and residential construction projects throughout Southern California. This role is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, monitoring quality and safety, and ensuring projects move efficiently from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate has strong residential construction experience, understands trade sequencing, and can proactively resolve field issues before they affect the schedule, budget, or quality.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily field operations on custom residential projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, architects, and engineers.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure upcoming work is properly planned.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP plans for conflicts and missing information.
- Monitor workmanship, safety, jobsite cleanliness, and compliance with approved plans.
- Track inspections, RFIs, material orders, change orders, and punch-list items.
- Document project progress through reports, photos, and schedule updates.
- Communicate project status, delays, and required decisions to management and clients.
- Monitor project costs and verify subcontractor work before payment.
- Manage projects through final inspection, closeout, and owner turnover.
- 3-5 years of residential construction management experience.
- Experience with custom homes, major renovations, or ground-up construction.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and trade sequencing.
- Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP plans.
- Strong scheduling, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar software.
- Familiarity with Southern California permitting and inspections.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Spanish-speaking ability is preferred but not required.
