Thumbnail Designer

We're looking for a world‑class freelance thumbnail designer who knows how to stop the scroll. You should live and breathe You Tube, understand how to design for attention, and have a portfolio that proves you know how to deliver high‑click‑through‑rate thumbnails. This isn't just a design job—it’s about understanding psychology, storytelling, and the ever‑changing You Tube landscape.

• Concept and design high‑performing thumbnails for long‑form and short‑form You Tube videos
• Collaborate with the creative director and editors to understand the story and emotional beats of each video
• Rapidly generate, iterate, and test concepts under tight deadlines
• Keep up with You Tube thumbnail trends and continually experiment with new styles
• Ensure every thumbnail is optimized for mobile and desktop viewing

• A strong portfolio of You Tube thumbnails with proven performance or mock‑ups that show mastery of the format
• Deep knowledge of You Tube best practices, CTR metrics, and audience behavior
• Proficiency in Photoshop or similar design software
• Ability to work quickly and independently while maintaining high visual standards
• Great visual storytelling instincts and an eye for composition, color, and facial expression

• Experience in frenetic lifestyle and prank content
• Familiarity with analytics tools to understand and optimize content performance
• Previous experience managing a team of editors

Salary:
This is a project‑based position which pays a base fee per project as well as performance bonuses.
