Overview:
KTLA 5, Los Angeles' first television station and a trusted leader in local news and entertainment, is seeking an energetic and outgoing individual to join our Community Engagement Department as an intern. This 6-8 week program offers hands-on experience in community outreach, event promotion, and brand engagement-providing valuable insight into the broadcast media industry.

Description:
As part of the KTLA 5 Community Engagement team, the intern will act as a KTLA 5 brand ambassador at station-sponsored promotions and community events. This unique position combines office-based responsibilities with hands-on field experience representing KTLA in the Los Angeles community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting with KTLA 5 on-site promotions and community events
* Supporting event setup and audience engagement activities
* Capturing and sharing event content (photos and videos) on KTLA Community social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X
* Providing general office support within the Community Engagement Department
* Assisting with marketing, social media, and promotional initiatives
* Serving as a professional, friendly representative of KTLA 5 at all times
Qualifications:
* Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible to receive academic credit
* Outgoing, enthusiastic, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
* Organized, hard-working, responsible, and able to multitask effectively
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media savvy
* Interest in news, marketing, broadcasting, and promotions
* Must maintain a flexible schedule and be available for day, evening, weekend, and holiday events
* Must maintain a professional appearance, exhibit customer focus, and work cooperatively as part of a team
Additional Information:
This internship is designed for students receiving school credit who have declared major in communications with a strong desire to work in the dynamic broadcast news industry. The internship program start and end dates are flexible to accommodate academic calendars.
Compensation - $17.87 per hour
