WATG is hiring a Landscape Designer for our office in Los Angeles, CA.

Overview

WATG is a world’s preeminent destination and hospitality design firm. We are employee-owned, almost 80 years young, with 500+ professionals located remotely and in offices in Atlantic City, CA, Dallas, New York, Honolulu, London, Singapore, and Shanghai. Our approach combines hospitality design across feasibility studies, conceptual development, and finishing touches, operating globally as an integrated, multidisciplinary practice with Wimberly Interiors.

Role

The Landscape Designer works with the project team and assists in the overall development of the project design, site plans, specifications, production of presentation drawings, and sketches. Under close mentoring, the Landscape Designer supports the team in completing the various phases of a project, addressing design solutions for resort, residential, and urban planning concepts.

Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, develop progressive design solutions and assist with a full range of assignments.
  • Assist with the production of drawings and construction documents, ensuring compliance with WATG quality standards.
  • Develop and coordinate diagrams, renderings, and conceptual graphics; prepare site designs including grading design.
  • Complete design sketches, presentation drawings, diagrams, and schedules; contribute to layout studies.
  • May conduct code research, write specifications, and coordinate permitting.
  • Demonstrate ability to grasp design concepts and express them graphically; perform benchmarking research on programming and comparable projects.
  • Foster commitment to external and internal client services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Recent graduate to 4+ years of experience in landscape architecture and/or site design.
  • On track to obtain a landscape architecture license preferred; environmental accreditation preferred.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch Up, Illustrator, and AutoCAD;
    Revit and Rhino experience preferred.
  • Strong freehand illustration and rendering, visualization, and digital graphic skills.
  • Experience developing concept plans at different scales; effective communication in verbal, written, and graphic form.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities and meet deadlines; ability to work in a team environment.

Job Information

Salary range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year
