Business Development Specialist

Our client, an Italian company specializing in premium wood surfaces and veneers, is looking for a Specification Rep. for the Los Angeles area.

The mission is to get the product specified. Build and nurture relationships with architecture & design firms to secure project specifications and seed our brand across libraries, mood boards, and material palettes.

• Specification:
  Drive “get the product specified” outcomes (Alpi-only preferred, avoid “or similar”); place/maintain binders, swatches, and displays in libraries.
• Storytelling:
  Present design collections, sustainability credentials, performance and application use-cases.
• Project tracking:
  Log opportunities and milestones in CRM; coordinate samples, mock-ups, tech docs.
• Handoff & follow-through:
  Partner with Regional Sales to protect specs with contractors/fabricators.
• Events & partnerships:
  Support trade shows, showrooms, design weeks; activate collabs with key designers.

• 5+ years in A&D business development/specification for premium surfaces, laminates, furniture or design-led materials.
• Existing network in A&D (materials librarians, PMs, project architects, FF&E).
• High creative sensibility and presentation skills; confident with design audiences.
• Organized, proactive, excellent with CRM and reporting.
• Nice to have:
  Background in architecture/design (studio or reps); experience with spec protection through to contractor/fabricator; LA studio networks.
• Base: DOE (band shared after screening)
• Variable:
  Commissions/bonus tied to spec KPIs (libraries placed, specs won, qualified project value) and conversion credit when projects bill
