Medical Physician – LGBTQ+ Services

Men's Health Foundation is seeking a compassionate, mission‑driven physician to serve our LGBTQ+ population. We prioritize health equity and inclusivity in all aspects of care.

Compensation

Base pay range: $ / yr – $ / yr (actual pay determined by experience and qualifications).

Position Overview

Physicians report to the Chief Medical Officer and manage individualized health plans to promote and restore patients' health. Responsibilities include diagnosis, counseling, treatment planning, patient education, and preventive care.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with patients to assess symptoms and clinical history
  • Accurately identify and diagnose medical conditions
  • Conduct thorough examinations and attend to chief complaints
  • Advise patients on medical concerns and follow‑up care
  • Assign appropriate treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs
  • Educate patients about treatment plans and follow‑up appointments
  • Perform clinical tests to inform diagnosis
  • Provide in‑office treatments when possible
  • Detect abnormal findings and respond accordingly
  • Prescribe medicines or therapies as indicated
  • Calculate correct medication dosage and instruct on proper use
  • Order external diagnostics and lab work as needed (blood/urine tests, imaging, etc.)
  • Analyze and share diagnostic results with patients
  • Maintain detailed charting and patient information
  • Conduct follow‑ups to monitor and track patient progress
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional integrity
  • Promote preventive health measures including diet, rest, and exercise
  • Direct, train, and supervise medical staff (nurses, PA, NP, med techs) on procedures and protocols
  • Attend conferences and pursue continuing education
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Valid medical license; board certification
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical practice in hospital or private setting
  • Proficient in diagnosing and creating treatment plans
  • High computer literacy and experience with electronic charting
  • Excellent communication of sensitive information
  • Sound judgment and decision‑making skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulations
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Experience preferred in HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and chronic disease management
  • Basic knowledge of infectious diseases and reporting requirements
  • Understanding of psychosocial influences on health behavior and ability to intervene
  • Behavioral maturity and patience in diverse patient interactions
  • Diplomacy and tact in handling difficult patients
  • Competence working with men and transgender women from diverse backgrounds
