About the Position

The Antelope Valley Union High School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Part‑Time CTE Public Safety Instructor. This position requires a credential in CTE Public Service or industry experience to qualify for obtaining a CTE Public Service credential. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Public Services/Public Safety (Police Officer, CHP, or Corrections Officer).

Possess the Designated Subjects CTE Teaching Credential in the subject area;
Public Service or Single Subject Teaching Credential.

Work Days: 185 days.

• Must:
  1) Possess the Designated Subjects CTE Credential in the Industry sector listed on the credential. OR
  2) Qualify for obtaining the Designated Subjects CTE Teaching Credential in the subject area, which requires:
  • Three years of related, verified work experience, or a combination of work and education experience in the subject area (at least 1 year within the last 5 years, or 2 years within the last 10 years).
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Additional education, training and certifications in related area preferred.
  • Commitment to complete CTE education coursework within the first three years of obtaining preliminary credential.
  • Pass a basic skills proficiency exam within one year of hire date.
  Individuals with a Single Subject Teaching credential with coursework in the designated field of Public Service may qualify to obtain a CTE Public Service Credential.
• In addition to the materials listed below, you will be required to produce a valid CA Driver's License and pass both a fingerprint and drug test clearance upon receiving a job offer.
