Sierra Canyon School, located on 35 acres in the Chatsworth neighborhood of the northwest San Fernando Valley, is a selective independent, nondenominational, coeducational day school for students from Early Kindergarten through 12th Grade. This is a full-time, on-site role for an Upper Campus Math Teacher at Sierra Canyon School, located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging mathematics lessons to students in Grades 7-12. Responsibilities include developing and implementing curriculum, assessing student performance, providing individualized instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters students' growth.
Faculty members are encouraged to collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional development, and contribute to the vibrant school community.
- Strong foundation in Mathematics and Mathematics Education
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning, Curriculum Development, and instructional design
- Certified or Qualified Teacher with experience in teaching secondary-level mathematics
- Ability to engage students through dynamic, interactive teaching methods
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for fostering student intellectual growth and curiosity
- Experience leading innovative classroom activities and employing technology in education is a plus
- Experience teaching in an independent school
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
