NIHAO Chinese is a Mandarin Immersion Learning Program focused on building community and supporting overall wellbeing at any age. We work with children ages 2-17 through onsite preschools, after‑school programs, school district partnerships, and online classes to help promote a curiosity of learning and support Chinese language development at any level.

We are looking for Mandarin Teaching Assistants to join our team. This position is perfect for those looking for a future career as a teacher. As a Mandarin TA, you will be given the chance to work in a real LAUSD classroom with a credentialed teacher. Many of our past TAs have moved on to teaching positions at the LAUSD school district and some of our TAs might be given an opportunity to teach in the classroom as substitute teachers.

• Help children with class activities.
• Work with teachers to help students with different language backgrounds and skill levels.
• Help teachers with students' homework and other assignments.
• Be able to manage a small group of students and direct them to work on their assignments.
• Display enthusiasm, understanding, and commitment to ensure the children’s experiences are positive and underpin their educational lives.

• High school diploma required (Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred).
• Must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese (speaking, reading and writing).
• Prior experience working with elementary school‑aged students (K‑5) preferred.
• Passionate about education and creative with teaching.
• Take initiatives and be able to follow instructions.
• Able to evaluate, analyze, and solve problems with children.
• Able to multi‑task with children and other responsibilities.

• 20 or 30 hours per week (M to F, mornings to early afternoon)

Pay Range: 18 - 19 USD per hour (Broadway)
