Chinese teacher Assistant

Overview

Under supervision, to assist teachers in 3-6 classroom and routine instructional support; to instruct and reinforce instruction of students individually and in small groups in accordance with instructions, to provide instructional record keeping support; to perform routine clerical duties; and to perform related work as required.

6 ECE Units. Any combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated on this job description and the ability to perform the duties of the position. A typical qualifying entrance background is experience working with children in an early education learning environment.

We are seeking a teacher assistant to join us for the 2026‑2027. The teacher will have the rich opportunity to educate in a unique, progressive home‑school setting. • AA or Bachelors Degree in Education or related field
• Minimum one year experience teaching preschooler, level preK‑K preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
• Skills in differentiating curriculum and instruction for varied abilities and ages

• Early Childhood Education level general curriculum;
• Practical learning patterns and behavior;
• Early childhood education concepts of child development and of the respective behavior characteristics;
• Reading and writing in English and phonics and basic reading principles;
• Operation of standard office equipment;
• Number concepts and general arithmetic to pre‑algebra level;
• Basic record keeping techniques;
• Appropriate safety precautions and procedures
• Experience in teaching any of the following: enrichments (art, dance, music, yoga, maker‑space, etc.) or subjects (geography, science, social studies, etc.)
• Knowledgeable about progressive education methodologies, whether it's Montessori, project‑based learning

• Participate with Lead Teacher in preparing and maintaining classroom equipment and materials in cleanliness and good repair, as directed. This may include: daily restocking of shelf supplies; ordering, dusting and washing materials and shelves; washing tables and practical life materials.
• Supervise children’s use of materials with care and precision, encouraging participation in keeping the materials and equipment and reporting needs for repair or replacement to the Lead Teacher.
• Stay aware of the condition of materials and equipment and report needs for repair or replacement to the Lead Teacher.
• Participate in planning for and making new materials to meet children’s needs.
• Assist with complete cleaning of the environment when required, including at end of term.
• Assist the Lead teacher with classroom management (making sure all children are engaged while Lead teacher is giving a presentation, be aware of the classroom as a whole, follow through with redirections, always place yourself so that you are able to watch the whole class).
