Preschool Teacher

Description

Our Lady of Lourdes School is seeking a nurturing, faith-filled Preschool Teacher to join our Catholic school community. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth of young children. The ideal candidate joyfully integrates Catholic values into daily instruction and models Christ-centered teaching.

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood education standards and the mission of the Catholic Church
• Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment rooted in respect, kindness, and Christian values
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development
• Integrate prayer, faith-based activities, and Catholic traditions into the daily routine
• Observe, assess, and document student progress; communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Collaborate with school staff, administration, and families to support student success
• Uphold school policies, diocesan guidelines, and state licensing requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Teaching certification
• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
• Practicing Catholic or supportive of the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
• Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
• CPR/First Aid certification, Virtus Training certificate (or willingness to obtain) and fingerprinting clearance as required
• Experience working within a state licensed program; possesses intimate knowledge of California Department of Social Services CDSS-specifically the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD)
• Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about working with young children

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
