Position Summary
The Department of History and the East Asian Studies Center in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California, invites applications for a part‑time teaching‑track faculty position (instructor or lecturer) for the academic year 2026‑27. The successful applicant will teach three courses and assist with undergraduate instruction on East Asia, with a preferred focus on either China and its inter-regional connections and/or Korean history.
QualificationsBackground training at the doctoral level and a Ph.D. in a relevant field are required at the time of appointment. Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter that includes a statement of teaching interests, one writing sample (either a published journal article or a dissertation chapter), recent teaching evaluations, and the names of three individuals who will be contacted by USC for a letter of reference.

Compensation and Selection FactorsThe per‑course rate for this position is $11,000.
