Manager of Special Populations

As a Manager of Special Populations at Ednovate, you will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and reinforcing supports for special populations (including multilingual learners, students with IEPs, advanced students and Black students) that are aligned with Ednovate's values, and creating a school culture where all students feel safe, respected, and engaged. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong organizational, relationship building, collaboration, and communication skills looking to create positive multigenerational change in a collaborative, results-oriented environment.

This is a full-time, exempt role that reports to the Principal.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a special populations leader. Develop and coach instructional staff to differentiate education and identify diverse complexity in support of special populations. Represent special populations in all-staff communication and have accountability conversations as needed. Attend and lead relevant meetings as assigned, cover teammates in their absence, and model exemplary teamwork and classroom and adult culture.
  • Create and implement student life opportunities. Manage advanced student needs via management of Honors Societies and High ACRI performers, including but not limited to 1:1s with these students, leading focus groups, and analyzing and acting on all related data. Support our Black student population by planning events outside of Black History Month to cultivate Black joy and celebration, leading focus groups and 1:1s to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Create and implement MLL and SPED supports. Develop and implement a vision for an ELD program. Manage MLL student assessments and ensure EL compliance for data reporting. Serve as the Special Education administrator using data analysis, one-on-one meetings, and focus groups to provide accommodations and train teachers as needed. Lead all related meetings with staff and students.
Who You’ll Be
  • Mission-driven professional passionate about increasing college attainment for historically under‑represented students
  • Social justice champion committed to promoting educational opportunity for all students and families
  • Entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a workplace characterized by autonomy, flexibility, transparency and accountability
  • Collaborative team player who works well with others from diverse backgrounds, uplifts and celebrates our teammates and engages in healthy debate and feedback to get the best results for students and families
  • Resourceful, persistent learner with a growth mindset, constantly seeking to “find a way or make one” to master your craft and improve results.
We’re Looking For
  • A California Administrative Credential, Single Subject Teaching Credential or Out of State Teaching Credential, preferred; clear path to receiving a teaching credential within a year, required
  • 2+ years of school leadership experience with a strong record of improving student outcomes in academics, culture, and engagement, required
We’re Committed To Giving You
  • A competitive and transparent salary ($85,000 to $125,000, depending on background and experience)
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage - including a fully-paid medical and dental option for employees and their families - and flexible spending account options
  • Paid family leave, short-term disability and life insurance benefits
  • Fitness and entertainment discounts
  • Generous paid time off and holidays
  • 403b retirement savings plan, with company match
  • A place to grow, learn and be a part of the Ednovate family
