Corps member Alumni Services Specialist

The Corps member Alumni Services Specialist supports the long-term success of Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC) alumni by providing post-program career, education, and supportive services. This position plays a critical role in strengthening alumni engagement, tracking outcomes, and connecting former Corps members to employment, education, and community resources that support economic mobility and career advancement.
Working within the Corps member Development Department, the Alumni Services Specialist builds and maintains relationships with alumni, internal staff, employers, training partners, and community organizations. The position ensures alumni have continued access to career counseling, job placement assistance, education pathways, and wraparound support after exiting the Corps. The Alumni Services Specialist also supports data tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts related to alumni outcomes.
The position will also provide support to the Case & Transition Team for other programmatic duties, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for LACC alumni seeking post-program support.
- Conduct outreach to alumni through phone, email, text, social media, and in-person events to maintain engagement.
- Provide one-on-one career coaching, job search assistance, resume support, interview preparation, and career pathway guidance.
- Support alumni with education-related services, including college enrollment, financial aid navigation, vocational training, and certification programs.
- Connect alumni with supportive services and community resources (e.g., housing, transportation, mental health, childcare, and legal aid).
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, workforce partners, educational institutions, and training providers.
- Connect alumni to job openings, apprenticeships, internships, and career advancement opportunities aligned with Corps member career pathways.
- Coordinate alumni hiring pipelines and referral processes with employer partners.
- Provide ongoing follow-up, coaching, and support to promote alumni job retention, career advancement, and long-term employment success.
- Plan and support alumni-focused workshops, job fairs, networking events, and professional development sessions.
- Assist with alumni leadership development, mentorship opportunities, and peer support initiatives.
- Support alumni engagement activities that foster community, civic engagement, and continued connection to LACC.
- Track alumni participation, services provided, employment outcomes, educational enrollment, wage gains, and other program metrics in ECM/Salesforce.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case notes, records, and outcome documentation in compliance with organizational and funder requirements.
- Assist with grant, contract, and internal reporting related to alumni services.
- Analyze data to identify trends, service gaps, and opportunities to improve alumni engagement and outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Corps member Development staff, program site staff, and leadership to ensure smooth transitions from active Corps member status to alumni services.
- Participate in case conferencing, staff meetings, webinars, partner meetings, trainings, and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on alumni needs, program effectiveness, and service delivery.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of Corps-wide initiatives, including the annual Career Fair, quarterly Employer Coffee Talks, Work Readiness activities, Career Exploration events, alumni engagement initiatives, and other programs supporting Corps member success.
- Maintain required records, reports, and documentation, ensuring timely completion and submission.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps
