About the Opportunity:
We're looking for engaging and dependable Workshop Instructors to facilitate programming at our partner schools throughout Los Angeles during the 2026–2027 school year (September 2026 through May/June 2027). This opportunity is ideal for educators, teaching artists, youth development professionals, graduate students in education or related fields, and others who enjoy working with middle and high school students.
- Seasonal contract:
September 2026 – May/June 2027 - Workshop assignments are offered throughout the school year. Contractors may accept or decline individual assignments based on their own availability.
- Available workshop opportunities are generally scheduled by school partners during school hours (typically between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM).
- Contractors are compensated per workshop assignment. Compensation details are provided at the time of each assignment offer. Contractors who accept recurring workshop assignments during a given month typically earn between $700 and $1,000, depending on the number of assignments accepted.
- Facilitate engaging workshops using The Dinner Table curriculum
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Lead discussions centered on leadership, self-identity, health and wellness, and college and career readiness
- Maintain attendance records and required session documentation
- Coordinate with The Dinner Table regarding accepted workshop assignments and required program documentation
We're looking for candidates who have:
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students
- Excellent communication and group facilitation skills
- A passion for youth development and education
- Strong organizational skills and professionalism
- The ability to travel to school sites throughout the Los Angeles area
- Experience in classroom teaching, youth development, mentoring, counseling, nonprofit programming, or workshop facilitation
- A California teaching credential or current enrollment in a master's program in education, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field
- Experience facilitating leadership, social-emotional learning (SEL), wellness, or college and career readiness programming

- Receive a one-time orientation to The Dinner Table curriculum and workshop materials before being considered for upcoming workshop assignments
