St. James’ Episcopal School is looking for a full-time Preschool teacher in our Kindergarten Readiness Program for the  school year. The successful candidate will take a student-centered approach to all school work and will use the School’s mission to support the academic, extracurricular, social, and emotional success of students.

  • Design and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate, vertically aligned curriculum consistent with our Play-based philosophy.
  • Communicate and use clear assessment practices and provide regular feedback to students and families.
  • Partner closely with other team members, the Child Study Team, and appropriate member(s) of senior administration to identify and support curricular, behavioral, and socio-emotional needs for students.
  • Complete progress reports for each child two times a year.
  • Fulfill assigned pick-up, drop-off, lunch, and recess coverage duties.
  • Participate enthusiastically in the greater life of the school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a masters preferred. Experience in the field is advantageous. This opportunity requires excellent strategies and skills in communication, collaboration, and organization with an appreciation for confidentiality, equity, belonging, and professional growth.
