For current vacancies by location, please .ROLE SUMMARY The Scholar Culture Liaison performs a variety of duties associated with the supervision and behavior support of scholars on campus including proactively supporting a safe, inclusive, and positive campus environment through relationship building with scholars, providing preventive supervision, and responding to behavior using positive behavior interventions/supports and restorative practices. The Scholar Culture Liaison role focuses on de-escalation, skill-building, and early intervention to prevent behavioral escalation and unauthorized activities, while collaborating with school staff to implement other job related activities on campus like implementation of social-emotional systems and tiered supports that promote accountability, belonging, and a healthy scholar culture.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Build developmentally appropriate, positive relationships with scholars to foster trust, respect, and cooperation while explicitly teaching school wide behavioral expectations through ongoing modeling, positive reinforcement, and community building.
Supervise scholar activity areas during transitions, breaks, and lunch periods.
Assist in general supervision of the school campus, with a focus on discipline and scholar behavioral expectations by communicating and enforcing school policies and procedures.
Follow school behavior incident reporting protocols to ensure timely communication of behavior incidents to administrators where and when appropriate.
Implement ongoing, universal Tier I interventions to prevent, redirect, and correct minor scholar behaviors by reinforcing school wide expectations.
Engage in use of least invasive intervention strategies when needed to promote a positive school culture and climate.
Continuously develop and strengthen positive relationships with parents, guardians, and other members of the school community.
Maintain data for school-wide behavior systems, positive behavior systems, and individual behavior support plans to inform tiered behavior prevention and decision-making.
Support the planning and execution of school-wide behavior response systems (after-school detention, restorative meetings, reflections, community circles, Saturday School) and positive behavior recognition celebrations.
Support the Dean of Scholars and/or other designated members of the Leadership Team with documentation and investigations related to scholar behavior incidents, following established school protocols to ensure due process.
Schedule and facilitate restorative meetings between scholars to address conflict, repair harm, build community, and reinforce behavioral expectations.
Join administrative team members on home visits for scholar support.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
