- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets that align with rigorous standards.
- Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and other assessment data to inform differentiated re‑teaching and advance mastery.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure equitable access to accommodations and supports.
- Support Alliance’s College‑Ready Graduate Profile and the goal of 75%+ of scholars completing a four‑year degree.
- Build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni to foster a strong community.
- Strong belief that every scholar deserves a quality education and can earn a four‑year degree.
- Commitment to teaching in underserved communities and advancing anti‑racist, student‑centered instruction.
- Ability to create a high‑expectation, collaborative classroom culture.
- Proficiency in data‑driven instruction, technology use, and innovative teaching methods.
- Solid content expertise, instructional planning, classroom management, and assessment skills.
- Growth mindset and continuous refinement of teaching practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults.
- A California teaching credential (subject area) with a valid English Learner Authorization.
- Alternative credentials accepted include California Education Specialist Credential in Extensive Support Needs or Moderate‑to‑Severe Disabilities, California University or District Intern Credential in Extensive Support Needs, or an equivalent out‑of‑state credential.
- Applicants without a current credential must provide a transcript for evaluation toward an emergency teaching permit.
- A bachelor's degree or higher (required if no credential).
