Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent college‑preparatory instruction to all scholars.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations.
  • Effectively execute assigned curriculum and provide just‑in‑time supports to reach every scholar, regardless of prior academic background, disability, or English language fluency.
  • Prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college‑ready standards.
  • Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and other assessment data to determine differentiated re‑teaching needed to advance scholars toward mastery.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure appropriate support and accommodations for all scholars.
  • Provide opportunities aligned with Alliance’s College‑Ready Graduate Profile.
  • Create a coherent and supportive classroom culture that supports scholar engagement, learning, and well‑being.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni.
Ideal Candidates
  • Believe that all scholars deserve a quality education and can earn a four‑year college degree.
  • Desire to teach in systemically underserved communities and integrate anti‑racist, pro‑Black, student‑centered instruction.
  • Demonstrate a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations.
  • Know how to use data, technology, and innovative teaching methods to monitor growth and scholar progress.
  • Have strong academic content expertise, instructional and classroom management skills, and in‑depth knowledge of effective evaluation and assessment techniques.
  • Commit to continuously honing their teaching craft and maintain a growth mindset.
  • Have strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills with children and adults.
Minimum Qualifications
  • California teaching credential in the assigned subject area(s) and a valid English Learner Authorization.
  • Credentials accepted:
    California Single Subject Credential in Art (Clear or Preliminary);
    California University or District Intern Credential in Art;
    Equivalent out‑of‑state credential transferring to California;
    California Multiple or Single Subject Credential with an Introductory Supplementary Authorization in Art (for Middle School).
  • Applicants without a credential must provide a transcript for evaluation of eligibility for an emergency teaching permit.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (if no credential).
Benefits

Alliance offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience, generous retirement and health benefits, paid holidays, leave, and two weeks of professional development for new hires. Roles are exempt.

Compensation

$70,000.00 – $
