Looking for After school Teaching Artists (Los Angeles)

Hey Curated is a kid-centered, experience-focused education company that connects talented teaching artists with schools to offer engaging after school enrichment programs. We partner with schools throughout the Los Angeles area to provide classes in dance, visual arts, performing arts, science, sports, crafting, and more.

We are currently looking for self-motivated, creative teaching artists to develop and lead after school classes for elementary-aged students during the 2026–2027 school year starting in September.

This is a freelance, part-time, in-person position that is ideal for artists, performers, educators, and other creative professionals seeking flexible afternoon work.

About the Role

We are looking for self-motivated educators who love working with children and are excited to share their passions and expertise. Whether your background is in art, dance, theater, science, sports, or another enrichment area, we'd love to hear your ideas for creating memorable after school experiences for kids. Join us in helping children explore new interests, build confidence, and have fun after school!

We are especially interested in teachers with interest teaching:

• Chess, Fitness, Science, Cooking, Magic, Beginner French and Math

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or creative settings
• Experience developing and facilitating activities, lessons, or workshops for kids
• Reliable, punctual, and highly communicative
• Comfortable independently managing a classroom of 6–12 students
• Available to teach on a consistent weekly schedule throughout the semester
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead your own curriculum for assigned after school classes
• Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities
• Provide, transport, and manage materials needed for class sessions
• Handle class setup, cleanup, and preparation
• Maintain regular communication with the Hey Curated programming team regarding lesson plans and class progress
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Serve as a friendly and professional representative of Hey Curated when interacting with students, families, teachers, and school administrators

$75.00 – $85.00 per hour
