Position: Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

Grade: Full Time, Non-Exempt, Potential Union

Hours: 7.5 hours between 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday

Rate Range: $18.74 to $22.65 per hour (based on experience)

J Los Angeles is looking for energetic, open-minded assistant teachers to help foster curiosity, exploration, and respect with young children. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interacting and connecting with children, families, and J Los Angeles partners in ways that support strong relationships, respect, and collaboration.
  • Working in a team to maintain a healthy, safe, and engaging classroom environment, develop curriculum and care for a group of 12-18 preschoolers.
  • Supporting a rich play-based curriculum based in Judaic values and traditions and a strong view of children as learners and thinkers.
  • Approaching conflicts as opportunities to learn and coaching children to be problem solvers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of 12 ECE units
  • At least 1 year of experience working with young children in a school or center setting
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and problem solve
  • Ability to be self-directed, manage time and complete projects
  • Open to learning, ability to self-reflect regularly
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position (i.e., care for active young children, repetitive bending and lifting)
  • Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (Must be willing to obtain)
