Travel-Based Homeschool Educator Full-Time (~ 230 days annually)

Los Angeles base Sept. & Oct. plus March & April;

Paris and other locations May & June & potential summer work
The traveling educator will take vacations as follows: (1) approximately two weeks of time off over the Christmas and New Year holidays each year, (2) approximately three weeks off each summer while the children attend camp in Switzerland, and (3) various other periods of time off following family travel schedules or needs.

Commitment:
Full-time: annual contracts to form a long-term (4+ years preferred) engagement

Two 10-year-olds (twins), one boy one girl, entering 5th grade
Structure:
One dedicated lead educator will work in partnership with other teachers and tutors.
Compensation:
Highly competitive. Commensurate with experience incl. a full benefit package.
Four months of the year will likely be spent embedded at a microschool site in Los Angeles where the educator will lead and guide the individualized skills-based learning for one child, while collaboration with other teachers will occur for content-focused project-based learning. For the other months of the academic year, the traveling educator will lead and guide the individualized stills-based learning for both children, including morning skills learning sessions followed by afternoon place-based content lessons and project-based learning.
OverviewA globally mobile family is seeking an exceptional full-time private educator to deliver individualized homeschooling instruction for their 10-year-old twins. A scope and sequence of skills along with various summative assessment protocols will be provided while individual curricular choices and lesson planning decisions will be made by the traveling teacher.
The educator will take full ownership of the childrens academic journeys, while collaborating closely with others on the team to ensure alignment, consistency, and shared experiences occur with both children where appropriate.

The Role- follow an individualized skills-based curriculum to teach reading, writing, math, and critical thinking to both children.
- design and implement a bespoke, place-based content curriculum (including literature, history, science, art, music, philosophy, and other topics) tailored to each childs learning style, strengths, and developmental needs.
- partner with other educators to ensure cohesion across subjects, schedules, and shared learning opportunities
The educator will work approximately 6 - 8 hours daily with the children, including 2-3 hours of teaching of core academic skills (reading, writing, math, critical thinking) each morning and 4
-5 hours of place-based content (history, science, art, music, etc.) lessons and projects each afternoon. A tutor will support the teacher during the afternoon lessons and projects.
During some months (including those in Los Angeles), the teachers will spend time at a microschool with one of the children, supporting learning and projects in a classroom environment with another teacher.
