Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Bilingual and Spanish Interdisciplinary Clinical Training (BASIC-T) Program, part of the UCLA and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Public Partnership for Wellbeing, is seeking a full-time Curriculum Developer. BASIC-T is dedicated to expanding the pipeline of culturally and linguistically responsive providers and enhancing training opportunities for behavioral health professionals serving diverse communities. This position will play a key role in developing engaging, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive training materials for psychologists, behavioral health providers, paraprofessionals, and school-based professionals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce high-quality training materials, including presentations, videos, manuals, protocols, and job aids.
  • Conduct interviews, focus groups, listening sessions, and field observations to inform curriculum design and training needs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, contractors, and stakeholders to create and refine training content.
  • Adapt and customize training materials for diverse audiences and learning environments.
  • Curate and organize existing educational resources to support program goals.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of special projects.
  • Contribute to evaluation efforts by analyzing participant feedback and training data to improve learning outcomes and identify future training needs.

Salary range: $34.60/hr - $70.91/hr

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Public Health, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing training curricula, educational materials, and learning resources for behavioral health professionals, educators, or community-based providers.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies, including online learning, distance education, instructor-led training, self-paced instruction, and evaluation strategies.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences with varying educational backgrounds, professional experiences, and learning styles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience providing training and technical assistance through virtual platforms and telephone consultation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, psycho educational interventions, and manualized training programs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel, and the ability to learn new software and learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of Los Angeles County behavioral health systems, including the Department of Mental Health and related community service providers.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Education, Public Health, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing curriculum, training programs, or educational materials.
  • Experience creating culturally responsive and trauma-informed training content.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
