Americorps Member, Education ​/ Teaching

As a City Year Ameri Corps Member with City Year, you will serve full-time in a public school, helping students build academic and social-emotional skills. Working within the Education, Training & E-Learning space, you'll provide small-group tutoring, in-class support, and mentoring to help students stay on track to graduate. In this collaborative, inclusive culture, you'll partner with teachers, participate in professional development, and grow as a leader while advancing educational equity and making a tangible impact in your school community.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects to help students stay on track academically
• Build positive relationships with students as a mentor and role model, fostering social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify student needs and align support with classroom goals
• Track and report student progress using data to inform daily interventions
• Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions
• Engage in team meetings and service projects that advance school and community goals
• Support whole-school activities such as family events, assemblies, and school climate initiatives
