The school is seeking an educator with a background in robotics and entrepreneurship to teach several courses and coach the school robotics team for middle and upper school students.
Responsibilities:- Teach several sections of robotics and entrepreneurship courses for middle and upper school students.
- Participate in the design and development of curricula that helps develop an innovation mindset for students by developing habits of mind such as systems thinking, human-centered design, iterative solutions development and persistence.
- Lead and develop the school robotics program, coaching students and preparing the team for local, state, and national competitions.
- Collaborate with external staff to provide students with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials, tools, and experiments to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, and professional development sessions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of previous K-12 teaching strongly preferred.
- Experience with project-based learning, design thinking, and hands-on, build-oriented instruction.
- Knowledge of varied teaching strategies to differentiate learning.
- Eager to work collaboratively with other teachers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Work Authorization required.
Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree
