Position Overview

College of Education, College of Los Angeles (Cal State LA). Position:
Part‑time Temporary Lecturer / Special Education Clinical Supervisor. The role involves supervising credential candidates in the Education Specialist, Orientation & Mobility, School Counseling, and School Psychology programs within the Division of Special Education & Counseling (EDSC).

Responsibilities
  • Instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours for courses in the Education Specialist credential programs.
  • Supervise credential candidates in fieldwork placements across various specialty areas.
  • Conduct supervision observations during K–12 school hours.
  • Use electronic observation forms, attend seminars, and complete initial training on fieldwork supervision.
  • Collaborate with faculty to maintain consistency across the program.
  • Provide additional duties as required by departmental needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Hold an Educational Specialist credential.
  • Substantial teaching experience and an MA degree or higher in Education (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • National Board Certification and/or a valid Administrative Services credential or equivalent experience.
  • Experience coaching and supervising candidates in fieldwork placements for Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Moderate/Severe Disabilities, Visual Impairments, Orientation & Mobility, School Psychology, and School Counseling.
  • Qualified in the credential area through training, credential/license, or experience teaching in public schools.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse populations and fostering inclusive environments.
  • Relevant work experience and training in the field of special education or counseling.
  • Previous university‑level teaching experience.
Salary

Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary ranges for faculty lecturer positions (full‑time equivalent) are:

  • LecturerA/2: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
  • LecturerB/3: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
  • LecturerC/4: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
  • LecturerD/5: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
