The ideal Office Assistant believes in, and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success. The Office Assistant is responsible for greeting and assisting parents, students, and visitors at the school in a friendly and professional manner as well as providing excellent customer service.
Whatyou’ll need to accomplish:
- Answer phones using a professional and courteous manner and route calls appropriately
- Take messages and distribute it in a timely manner
- Sort and distribute mail
- Reply to general information requests with accurate information
- Assist Office Manager with proper documentation and accuracy of student attendance
- Fax, make copies, and assist with typing and composes correspondence letters
- Make phone calls to parents
- Assist with collecting lunch count
- Flyer distribution
- Supervise during lunch and recess (policy & procedures)
- Assist with the preparation of parent meetings
- Translate for teachers, parents, and counselors (if bilingual)
- Create students’ files and organize students’ cumulative files (CUM)
- Perform other duties as assigned
What do we require from you?
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
- Enrolled in college or possesses a BA/BS degree preferred
Experience:
- Prior experience working with students in a learning environment preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below.
Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
