Tutor, Tutoring, Teacher Assistant​/ Paraprofessional

Tutor (Part-Time)
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Job Description Tradewind Subs is hiring Tutors to provide academic support to students in K-12 schools throughout Los Angeles County. As a tutor, you'll work one-on-one and in small groups to help students build skills, gain confidence, and succeed in the classroom.

• Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring in core subjects such as reading, writing, and math.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and help students complete assignments and prepare for assessments.
• Adapt lessons and strategies to each student's learning needs, goals, and pace.
• Support students with disabilities and learning needs in accordance with IEPs and school plans.
• Encourage positive study habits, communication skills, and student engagement.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment by following school policies and emergency procedures.
• Track student progress and complete required documentation, including timesheets and session notes.
• Communicate student progress and concerns to teachers and school staff.

• At least 6 months of recent experience working with children or adolescents in education, tutoring, childcare, mentoring, coaching, or a related field.
• Preferred: 48 college credits.
• DOJ/FBI Livescan fingerprint clearance.
• TB risk assessment or test.
• Valid authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a school campus.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
• Ability to respond quickly to student and safety needs.
