As a Staff FPGA Engineer
, you will architect and implement a custom compute platform at the core of this system. You’ll work with cutting-edge FPGA technology, including modern SoC-class devices, to scale high-throughput, ultra-low-latency data and image processing pipelines.
You will play a key technical leadership role, partnering closely with software, electrical, and systems engineering teams to rapidly develop and deploy custom FPGA solutions. This is a high-impact position focused on building foundational IP for a complex, real-time, compute-intensive platform.
Responsibilities- Architect and implement FPGA solutions for high-throughput, ultra-low-latency data and image processing pipelines
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional engineering efforts spanning software, electrical, and systems teams
- Design and implement custom FPGA capabilities to support real-time machine learning workloads
- Develop reusable logic components and IP for FPGA platforms
- Implement custom algorithms for signal processing on FPGAs
- Design and implement custom controllers and interfaces on FPGA-based systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of FPGA development experience using System Verilog and/or VHDL
- Hands-on experience with modern FPGA tool chains (e.g., synthesis, implementation, timing closure)
- Experience with high-speed I/O, board bring-up, and hardware-centric FPGA development
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience with image processing, DSP, or real-time data pipelines
- Experience with SoC-class FPGAs (e.g., ARM-based FPGA platforms)
- Embedded software experience, including embedded Linux and SoC-based architectures
- Experience implementing advanced math or compute-intensive workloads on FPGAs
- Exposure to heterogeneous compute systems and high-speed data acquisition platforms
- Proficiency in C/C++ or other high-level programming languages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to apply first-principles thinking to complex technical challenges
