ACE Partners are supporting one of our partners operating within the Aerospace sector with multiple Structural Design Engineering positions. We are seeking an experienced engineer with 8+ years experience and a strong background in primary and secondary structural design using sheet metal. You will lead the design, development, integration, and verification of airframe structures throughout the product lifecycle. This position requires advanced CAD expertise (Solid Works or CATIA V5), strong analytical capabilities (ANSYS or similar) and strong fundamental knowledge to complete designs in a timely manner and to support junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary loads and stress analysis to guide design decisions
- Create detailed, assembly, and installation design definitions using CAD tools
- Oversee prototype build and manufacturing activities
- Develop and maintain engineering requirements, specifications, and processes
- Plan, coordinate, and execute component, assembly, and aircraft testing across lab, ground, and flight environments, including test planning, instrumentation, data analysis, and resolution of findings
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define operating environments, address development issues, and support certification activities
- Work with suppliers to resolve design challenges and align on requirements
- Track and report project progress, schedules, and risks
- Implement processes and tools to improve design efficiency, quality, and overall effectiveness
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered
- Proven experience designing metallic aircraft primary structures
- Skilled in CAD design and modeling, with expertise in design for manufacturing and applying GD&T
- Knowledge of aircraft certification processes and requirements
- Strong foundation in structural design, loads, and mechanical systems
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Excellent academic background
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player with a positive attitude and collaborative mindset
