SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA

As Senior Quality Engineer you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aircraft control systems and aviation safety. You will be responsible for overseeing all quality management activities within our organization, including OEM Operations, supplier management, a Part 145 Repair station and an installation center. This includes developing and implementing quality management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and reliability of our operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of FAA quality standards and regulations, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of success in quality management within the aviation industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain quality control procedures for all aspects of aviation operations, including maintenance, repair, manufacturing, and procurement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive quality management system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities and industry organizations to ensure alignment with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Investigate into quality issues, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and quality metrics to track performance and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of quality and safety.
  • Stay abreast of developments in aviation quality standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality management within the commercial aviation industry, with a proven track record of success in maintaining quality management systems and driving continuous improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation quality standards and regulations, including FAA regulations, ISO standards, NADCAP requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality excellence.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support audit activities, supplier quality issues, and quality initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with the FAA
  • Certification as a Quality Auditor or Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
