Position OverviewAs a Staff / Lead FPGA Engineer
, you will architect and deliver high-performance compute platforms at the heart of next-generation intelligent manufacturing. You’ll harness the power of advanced FPGAs, such as the Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC, to push the limits of throughput and latency in image processing and real-time machine learning acceleration. Collaborating across software, hardware, and process engineering disciplines, you will create novel FPGA-based solutions that form the core IP of our platform.
This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence how advanced manufacturing scales globally.
- Design and implement FPGA architectures that drive ultra-low latency, high-throughput image processing pipelines.
- Integrate FPGA platforms with GPUs to enable next-generation heterogeneous compute for AI-driven manufacturing.
- Develop custom algorithms for signal processing, logic components, and controllers deployed on FPGAs.
- Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives to push the boundaries of FPGA innovation in collaboration with software and hardware teams.
- Apply advanced system-level design approaches to create scalable, reliable, and performance-optimized solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in FPGA development using System Verilog or VHDL.
- Hands-on experience with Xilinx Vivado/Vitis tool chains.
- Proficiency in high-speed I/O, board bring-up, and hardware-centric FPGA development environments.
- Master’s degree in a related technical discipline.
- Experience with advanced image processing or DSP pipelines.
- Hands-on knowledge of Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC.
- Background in embedded software development, embedded Linux, or SoC-based architectures.
- Experience implementing mathematical and computational algorithms on FPGAs.
- Exposure to heterogeneous computing systems, high-speed data acquisition, and integration with GPUs.
- Programming familiarity with C, C++, or other higher-level languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a creative and analytical problem-solving mindset.
This role is based in Hawthorne, CA, at a modern 35,000 sq. ft. facility designed for collaboration, R&D, and large-scale production. The site is strategically located within Los Angeles’ fast-growing tech ecosystem.
