About the job

This is a high‑impact Senior Research Scientist role focused on path‑finding leading‑edge techniques for practical quantum computation on Google’s processors. Leveraging a theoretical foundation, you will bridge the gap between abstract protocols and real‑world hardware, developing methods that accelerate performance on current noisy processors and toward future error‑corrected systems. In this role, you will have a scope of influence, leading the way in the theory, numerical modeling, and optimization of existing approaches while playing a key role in flagship quantum experiments.

Your work will not only directly influence the trajectory of the field and the realization of quantum computation  full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large‑scale computer capable of complex, error‑corrected computations. Google Quantum AI’s mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.
