HDR is providing PM/CM services for the Los Angeles World Airports ATMP Landside Improvements Project. The project will deliver critical improvements to the roadways, streets, and thoroughfares in and around the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) campus. HDR will assist with the management of projects throughout the design, preconstruction, and construction phases, from inception to closeout. HDR is proud to lead a strong team of world-class professionals to sculpt this project that is a key part of the infrastructure transformation ahead of the 2028 Olympics and will serve millions of travelers and Angelenos for decades to come.
Responsibilities- Structure Representative is aKey Role under LAWA’s PMCM Team responsible for technical control of all structural work on a construction project.
- Provide field engineering oversight for bridge and other structure construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Perform field oversight and inspections, review and approve shop drawings and submittals, manage contract administration, and coordinate with various parties to ensure correct materials testing and documentation.
- Coordinate with Caltrans Oversight and multiple stakeholders, acting as a liaison among contractor, residents engineers, PMCM Team, and other consultants.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain as-built records, ensuring project documentation including material certifications is complete and compliant.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations and coordinate with a Structures Project Safety Coordinator for specialty work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
- A minimum of 10 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
- Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office, Primavera or related construction packages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture
- Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position
- Minimum of five (5) years of responsible experience as a Structure Representative, or ten (10) years as an Assistant Structure Representative on Caltrans and/or Caltrans Oversight projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer in California
- Valid Driver's License and Standard First Aid Certificate
- ASTM/CTM/ACI certifications or equivalents
- Knowledge of Caltrans Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, and Construction Manual
- Experience with CPM software and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P3/P6, Sure Trak, Microsoft Project)
- Experience with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and General Permit
