Manufacturing Engineer
About Us:
Hadrian builds software-defined high-precision component factories for the top aerospace companies in the world. We are in search of individuals with the drive to augment manufacturing, helping enable our engineers to build complex, yet elegant software, and machinists who have a passion for pushing the trade forward.
Position OverviewThe CAM Process Generation Team is responsible for programming New Customer NPI (New Product Integration) components. As a CAM Programmer on this team, you will play a pivotal role at the intersection of manufacturing and software R&D. You’ll be instrumental in developing and executing the manufacturing build plan to produce stable and reliable CAM programs.
You will be directly responsible for creating CAM packages for highly complex, tight-tolerance components. This role is also key in testing and refining process applications and Hadrian’s internal automation software. You will report to the CAM Programming Manager, Process Generation.
The primary focus includes generating precise CNC programs, ensuring long-term process stability, creating reliable CAM files, and effectively communicating with cross-functional partners, including Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers, and Quality teams. You will also support program revisions and optimizations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCAM Programming and Process Deployment
Generate CAM files with detailed manufacturing intent, strictly adhering to Hadrian’s design principles.
Create clear, comprehensive work instructions tailored for operators at all skill levels, including those with minimal experience in machine setups.
Identify gaps in application processes and effectively communicate findings to CAM Process Designers and Hadrian’s CoPilot team.
Solicit and incorporate feedback from team members and technical staff to improve machining productivity and program quality.
Identify trends or recurring issues in deployed processes and propose improvements or integrations to address them.
Design and model 3D fixtures according to Hadrian’s standards using Siemens NX.
Implement advanced fixture design principles (e.g., 3-2-1 locating, Poka-Yoke, master modeling, equation-driven design).
Follow industry-standard CAD practices and internal workflows to ensure seamless collaboration with team members.
Efficiently operate within Hyper
MILL and NX environments, leveraging best practices for CAM programming and design.Fully utilize Hadrian’s automation tools and CoPilot integration throughout the CAM programming workflow.
4+ years of direct CAM programming experience, with proven capability in 3-axis and/or 5-axis tight-tolerance precision components.
Alternatively: 2 years of direct CAM programming plus 2 years of related machining or engineering experience, supported by a strong CNC programming portfolio.
Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing industry.
Familiarity with safety procedures, quality standards, and tool selection.
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Ability to interpret data (e.g., CMM reports), identify trends, and apply insights to improve dimensional stability and process reliability.
Experience with Hyper
MILL, Heidenhain, Fanuc, and NX.Familiarity with machining of alloys such as aluminum, steel, and titanium.
Background in production environments with programming responsibilities, aerospace PPAP processes, or fixed-process manufacturing.
Exposure to production process planning, mechanical design, software testing, or related engineering disciplines.
For this role, the target salary range is $100,000 - $180,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including,…
