Job Description & How to Apply Below

Spacecraft represent the most pressing unmet need across the entire aerospace industry. As more launch vehicles come online and the cost to orbit decreases, more companies launching payloads to space continue to emerge.

For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles.

Apex manufactures these satellite buses at scale using a combination of software, vertical integration, and hardware that is designed for manufacturing. Our spacecraft enable the future of society: ranging from earth observation to communications and more.

We’d love for you to join us on our mission of providing humankind access to the galaxy beyond our planet.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on operator who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑growth manufacturing environments and can balance tactical execution with continuous improvement. A senior facilities executor and working supervisor who performs hands‑on work, owns tasks end‑to‑end, directs day‑to‑day execution by junior staff, and utilizes vendors as needed.

Core Responsibilities

Hands‑On Facilities Execution (40–50%)

  • Personally perform preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance across building systems and site infrastructure.
  • Execute repairs and improvements involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general facilities trades.
  • Troubleshoot complex facilities issues impacting production, safety, or operations.
  • Perform work in active manufacturing, lab, and office environments while maintaining safety and operational continuity.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, organized, and compliant condition.

Task Ownership & Small Projects (15–25%)

  • Independently own discrete facilities tasks and small projects from planning through close‑out.
  • Execute defined scopes supporting minor build‑outs, renovations, equipment installations, and infrastructure improvements under the direction of senior leadership.
  • Define task scope, sequence work, obtain materials, execute work, and verify completion.
  • Coordinate field activity to minimize operational disruption in live manufacturing environments.
  • Close out tasks with documentation, verification, and stakeholder communication.

Outsourced Service Provider Utilization (15–25%)

  • Utilize outsourced service providers as execution resources to support defined tasks and scopes when self‑performance is not practical.
  • Coordinate vendor scheduling, site access, and task sequencing.
  • Provide field‑level oversight to ensure work is completed to defined scope, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Verify task completion and close out vendor‑supported work.

Working Supervision & Task Direction (10–20%)

  • Provide day‑to‑day task direction to lower‑level facilities technicians and in‑house janitorial staff.
  • Assign work, set daily priorities, and ensure tasks are executed safely and to standard.
  • Work alongside team members while performing hands‑on facilities tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on‑the‑job support.
  • Monitor work quality and address performance issues through coaching and escalation.

Documentation, Safety & Compliance Support (5–10%)
