Job Description

We are currently seeking a senior Environmental Engineer to support a wide variety of water projects. The preferred candidates will have an in-depth background and experience in both drinking water and water reuse. The preferred candidate will provide oversight and expert technical direction for water and water reuse treatment projects.

Responsibilities
  • Supports moderate to high complexity water and reuse treatment facility, related pipelines, and pump stations engineering designs to meet client project requirements.
  • Managing tasks on large projects or phases of small projects.
  • Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations, and sign off on completed designs.
  • Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
  • Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
  • Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
  • Updates design requirements as necessary.
  • Performs water quality analyses and modeling.
  • Contributes to firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
  • Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
  • Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
  • Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
  • Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
  • May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 15 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience leading water-related engineering projects.
  • Proven ability to guide teams of engineers and scientists.
  • Strong technical expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure design.
  • Commitment to high-quality work, client service, and professional development.
  • Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of state and local regulations.

Pay Range

Minimum: $153,462 | Maximum: $283,878
