Chief Engineer I – Job Posting
Location: Los Angeles County
Salary: $6,715.00 – $8,500.00 per month
Term: 12‑month Limited Term (may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent)
Work Shift: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday)
Telework: In Office
Responsibilities- Lead and provide skilled work in operation, maintenance, and repair of heating and electrical plant, mechanical and power equipment in State buildings under direction of Chief Engineer II.
- Perform engineering operations and oversee special projects as required.
- Ensure compliance with FMD guidelines and manuals for all facility equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heating, electrical, and mechanical systems in State buildings.
- Meet the minimum qualifications described in the Class Specification for Chief Engineer I.
- Complete the STD 678 State Employment Application, including required experience and education.
- Pass required drug screening and obtain medical clearance prior to hiring.
- Be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Possess knowledge of heating, electrical, and mechanical maintenance in large facilities.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The appointee must complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and annually thereafter.
