Operations Manager
6-12 Month Contract in Los Angeles, CA
Opportunity OverviewAs a Site Supervisor, you will support and report directly to the Project Manager, serving as the primary for day‑to‑day field operations on a rolling stock project in Los Angeles.
You will be responsible for daily management, task coordination of 4–10 technicians and subcontractors. You will enforce safety protocols, ensure all work follows engineering specifications, and act as the main onsite liaison between the client and the remote project team.
Your Day-to-Day:Conduct daily job briefings with the site team.
Ensure all technicians and subcontractors follow SYSTRA and site safety protocols.
Coordinate daily activities for a team of 4–10 technicians and subcontractors.
Support the Project Manager with adjustments to execution plans to meet schedule and deliverables.
Monitor and guide technicians to ensure work aligns with engineering drawings and inspection procedures.
Communicate with the remote engineering team to clarify ambiguous drawings or procedures.
Help with testing, installations, and inspections to maintain schedule and quality.
Be the primary onsite interface for the client.
Facilitate discussions between the client team and the remote Project Manager.
Manage onsite tools, equipment, and materials inventory.
Complete and approve testing and inspection reports; maintain accurate records.
Provide weekly summary reports covering progress, resources, schedule updates, and risks.
8+ years supervising field teams of at least five members—within heavy‑duty vehicle or equipment repair, and preferably in the rail industry.
Commitment to safety, hazard mitigation, and risk management.
Working knowledge of:
Electrical distribution systems
HVAC systems
Pneumatic actuators
Interior finishing
Metal work
Experience testing, troubleshooting, and collaborating with engineering teams.
AAR Carman certification is a significant asset.
Comfortable working onsite full‑time and serving as the primary onsite representative to both the client and the remote PM.
